Caitlin Eagle

Caitlin Eagle completed her undergraduate degree in 2015, at the University of Witwatersrand. Thereafter, she moved to the Western Cape to pursue a teaching qualification at Stellenbosch University. Caitlin’s passion for working with children continued to grow so she decided to hone her skills with an honours degree in educational psychology in 2017. Thereafter, Caitlin gained experience as a facilitator; high school English teacher; learning support therapist; and intern educational psychologist across various schools in Cape Town. Currently, Caitlin is completing her master’s degree in educational psychology at the University of Stellenbosch. Her thesis explores how comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) is understood and experienced within the school environment.

Caitlin’s services include individual play therapy; family therapy; sibling therapy; parent-infant therapy; executive functioning sessions; career assessments; social skills groups; and workshops. Caitlin has a particular interest in working with children, ages 5 and above, as well as young adults. Play therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses play as a medium for communication and self-expression. It fosters emotional expression and problem solving; enhances communication; and promotes resilience. Caitlin practices from an eclectic approach, adopting multiple strategies or techniques based on the unique needs of her clients.

Caitlin and her husband, Brett, live in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, where she enjoys hiking, running, reading, and spending time with loved ones. Caitlin and Brett are training their Labrador, Skyla, in animal assisted therapy (AAT) and are part of Top Dogs – a non-profit therapy dog organisation.
